On May 3, 2025, Trixie Mattel’s Solid Pink Disco Tour came to Stage AE in Pittsburgh, PA. As the excited crowd was shuffling into the venue, DJ ROJO was getting everyone warmed up with his set. It was so fun to see everyone arriving in their unique and pink outfits.
Rebecca Black was the next DJ up to entertain the crowd. The audience was absolutely LOVING her and the vibe her set brought to the evening. She has a serious but fierce persona while DJ-ing on stage, but it matched perfectly with the songs she played, featuring music from artists like Charli XCX and Chappell Roan. Black’s last song was a mashup of Charli XCX’s “360” and Black’s very own song “Friday.” It was the best way to end her set, and everyone in the building lost their mind.
Next was DJ Mateo Segade for his set. At this point in the show, local drag queens and LGBTQ+ performers joined Segade to dance on stage and continue getting the audience energized. My favorite local drag queen is Kaydence McQueen, and it was one of the highlights of my night seeing her come out onstage to perform.
Finally, Trixie Mattel began her highly anticipated set, and the entire crowd roared with excitement. Stage AE was unbelievably packed and sweaty at this point as everyone was dancing and having a great time.
It was heartwarming to watch Mattel as she DJ-ed because you can tell she absolutely loves doing it as I caught her many times with the biggest smile on her face. One of the reasons I love Mattel is because her and Katya crack me up on their The Bald and the Beautiful podcast, and Mattel was no short of jokes during her set which had everyone laughing.
I was so thrilled to attend the Solid Pink Disco Tour. I don’t really often attend clubs or see DJs live, and Trixie Mattel has since converted me. The entire evening was full of love, positivity, and fun. Check out some photos of the evening in the gallery below!
