On September 16, 2025, Conan Gray brought his tour, The Wishbone Pajama Show, to the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh, PA. Upon arriving at the venue, I noticed many concert-goers decked out in their most stylish pajamas for the show. Hemlocke Springs opened, and everything about the performance was a joy. From her bright and eccentric wardrobe and makeup to her energetic stage presence, I was mesmerized by Springs. It was nice to see the crowd also give their undivided attention during her performance, even more so when Springs closed her set with her hit “Girlfriend.” The entire arena was dancing and singing along to every word.

It was then time for Conan Gray to take the stage. Gray’s set was broken up into multiple “acts,” starting with Act I: a wishbone never breaks even. Gray rode out onto the stage on a bike wearing a sailor outfit, and the audience was deafening with their cheers. My favorite part of this act was watching the entire crowd let loose to “Wish You Were Sober.” It’s one of my favorite Conan Gray songs because I love watching the everyone dance along to it without a care in the world and huge smiles on their faces.

Next was Act II: I got the short end of the stick, where Gray then changed into his pajama outfit, perfectly matching the audience members who showed up in theme. During this part of the set, Gray sang another one of my favorite songs, “People Watching.”

During Act III (I took the long way to realization), Gray had a moment in the set where he was either going to sing “Fight or Flight” or “Alley Rose.” He took out a wishbone and said that he was going to break it with a fan, and whoever got the bigger part of the wishbone would get to choose which of the two songs he would sing. Gray spotted a woman in the crowd named Sandy who was in attendance with her family, and with the help of her loved ones, Sandy was the winner, choosing “Alley Rose.” I was giggling because Gray was ecstatic to have finally lost the game at a show and to not have to choose the song. It was also cute to hear Gray change the lyric “Alley Rose” once in the song to “Sandy Rose,” dedicating it to his opponent.

The performance of “Family Line” during Act III was immensely powerful. The song itself is already moving, but hearing everyone singing their hearts out to the lyrics and having their own personal connections to it, was something I will never forget. Gray showcased his vocals during this song as well, and I had goosebumps on my arms.

Act IV was: I wished for love, and I found it. “Maniac” was performed during this section which was another let loose song for the audience. There was not a single person that wasn’t jumping up and down during that song, including me. Gray then ended his show with the encores, “Memories” and “Caramel.”

My first time seeing Conan Gray was at All Things Go last year, and it was a performance that blew me away. I could not wait to see him again, and he delivered tenfold with his Wishbone Pajama Show. I will be doing everything in my power to see both Conan Gray and Hemlocke Springs whenever they are in Pittsburgh again. You can check out photos I took from the show in the gallery below!
