Just six months after their previous visit, Aly & AJ came back to Pittsburgh for their Places to Run Tour on April 7, 2026 at the Roxian Theatre. Hayden Blount kicked off the show, getting the crowd warmed up.
Aly & AJ took the stage, starting with “Silver Deliverer,” and the audience went wild. It’s understandable why Aly & AJ would want to come back to Pittsburgh only six months after their previous performance when they are met with a crowd that sings every lyric as loud as they can while dancing their hearts out.
Watching different people in the audience enjoying the show was one of my favorite parts of the evening. During “Next to Nothing,” I noticed a guy who was shaking his box of candy similarly to how Aly was shaking her percussion shaker. I immediately started laughing because that song is so infectious that I knew if I had a box of candy, I would be doing the same exact thing.
Another crowd moment was during “Slow Dancing.” I walked toward the back of the venue and noticed a group of people holding hands and dancing in a circle. When I looked a little closer, I noticed that one of the people in the circle was the opener, Hayden Blount. It was wonderful seeing everyone in the building, including Blount, enjoying the show that Aly & AJ put on.
Like their last tour, Aly & AJ partnered with Everytown to raise money to put an end to gun violence. Both girls were so touched to see that almost every person in the crowd had their heads down looking at their phones to donate prior to them singing “Sirens.” I love seeing artists use their platforms to help make positive change, and it was incredible to see essentially the entire audience donating what they can to the cause.
Aly & AJ made sure to include some throwbacks in the setlist which the crowd was very appreciative of. Everyone was jumping up and down during the bridge of “Chemicals React” and went wild when the last chorus of the song hit. During “Rush,” I got chills when the band quit playing on the last chorus and the girls had the audience singing the lyrics at the top of their lungs. I also feel like I remember Aly & AJ previously saying that “Like Woah” is one of their older songs they don’t enjoy playing as much, but it had a spot on the setlist for this show. If this is actually the case and I’m not misremembering, I would like to apologize to Aly & AJ because that song pops off live, and I fear they may want to consider playing it live often.
Part two of the Places to Run tour kicks off at the end of November once AJ is done filming for the television show White Lotus (good luck, AJ!!!), and I highly recommend checking to see if they are coming to your area. I plan on seeing Aly & AJ as many times as possible. If they continue to show up to Pittsburgh every six months, I will continue to be there cheering them on and in awe of how talented they are. Feel free to check out some photos I took of the show in the gallery below!
